In order to offer better education and career opportunities for my family, we moved to Tallahassee and I shut down my tour business. Since the move I have been searching for a way to continue my career as an ecotour guide. I believe that I have found the answer. Through this website, I hope to introduce many more people to the beauty and importance of the ecosystems in the Florida panhandle. I am excited about exploring these sites and sharing my experiences with you. I'd like to hear from you, drop me a line. |

My
name is Gibby Conrad. I moved from New Orleans to
Apalachicola, Florida in 1997 to start an ecotour business. For ten
years, I ran tours of the Apalachicola estuary and every trip was a
unique experience. I met many interesting people and was privileged
to witness Nature in all her glory every day. Like all of our
ecosystems, the Apalachicola estuary is facing many daunting
challenges. I hope that I was able to raise awareness of the
fragile nature of this very important system so that it will
continue to thrive in the future.
